Tad is an app for turning your time into value for creators you love. Time spent watching high-quality, high-value ads is the most efficient way to support and access the content you enjoy watching, reading, or listening to.
The intersection of content and advertising creates potential cause for concern regarding privacy. When online content or products are free, the user's data, your data, tend to be what is given up. At Tad, we believe you should have full control over your personal data and have built Tad to give you this control.
The key to creating a high-value advertising environment is a combination of your willingness to watch an ad and any information that is used to show an ad to you. Information about you - your age, gender, interests, etc. - are valuable and should be up to you how they are used. As such, in Tad you control what information is used to show you ads, if any. You select the categories of ads that interest you, Tad shows ads in your ad feed tailored to those interests.
While you will control the ad experience, the natural activity of using a digital application, like Tad, does create information or data. We'd like to be transparent of this and think of information in two ways, that which you provide directly to use and that which we collect while you use the app
Information you provide to us
Keep in mind that you currently have no way to sign-in or register with Tad.
Tad is completely anonymous.
For the purpose of providing a consistence app experience for you over time, we associate creators you've funded and ad categories selected with your device. That way they'll be remembered the next time you use Tad. We also assign your device a unique identifier, but is in no way tied to you personally or contain any personally identifiable information.
Authorizing Twitter in Tad will allow you to search and fund any creator with a Twitter account. When you authorize Tad to access your Twitter account, we do so only for the purpose of accessing the Twitter Search API. We do not see or store your Twitter username, follower list, email address or any other information you've shared with Twitter. For more information on Twitter's terms of service, please see https://twitter.com/tos.
Information we get when you use Tad
We keep track of the ads watched, feedback given on ads, and creator funding in addition to app browsing behavior (where users navigate to, where they exit from). We also collect log information such as device type, session length, country location, and wireless network.
How Tad uses information
We use the information collected to improve the ad viewing and creator funding experience. Specifically, we analyze usage and trends, customize the ads in your ad feed based on selected interests, monitor activity to identify and prevent fraudulent activities, and enforce our terms of service or other policies.
We do not send any data collected in Tad to third parties. The limited amount of data collected in Tad stays with to allow us to make the product better.
